The process of all organisms biological systems use feedback mechanisms to maintain their internal environment to respond to environmental changes relates to the Big Idea is that biological systems use free energy to maintain homeostasis.
Diabetes mellitus when you decrease insulin Insulin is produced in our pancreas. Insulin’s purpose is to move glucose inside the cells and to help store glucose. When the cells in the pancreas stop producing insulin, this causes an excess amount of glucose and the body can not use up all the glucose so we exert it through urination. This is dangerous because the more and more you go to the bathroom you are releasing large amount of water from your body. Water loss leads to dehydration and results in homeostasis. That is why people with diabetes have to inject themselves with insulin because their bodies can not produce enough insulin so they need to start up the process themselves. Ripening of fruitWhen a fruit ripens ethylene gas (a small hydrocarbon gas) is produced. It then spread throughout the air. Other fruits may come in contact with the ethylene and acting as a catalyst, speeding up the ripening process. Fruits in the same environment would all begin ripening at the same time and more and more animals will be attracted. Some insects such as bees will have the benefit to pollinate and spread their seeds. This leads to the opposite of temporal isolation(timing of mating is off)
Temperature regulations in mammalsMaintain dynamic homeostasis for a specific condition:
Mammals regular body temperature range about 36-38 degree C. Just like humans do, in order to maintain that certain temperature they will perform various mechanisms. If a mammal gets too hot the mammal’s body will begin to sweat to release energy and this will lower their temperature. On the opposite side,if a mammal’s body gets too cold they will begin to shiver ,contracting blood vessels to raise the temperature of the body. In response to changes in temperatures in the surroundings animals change the amount of blood flowing in their skin. This all occurs to maintain temp. of body What is Diabetes?Diabetes is a metabolic disease in which the body’s inability to produce any or enough insulin causes elevated levels of glucose in the blood.
Diabetes can cause kidney failure, heart failure and strokes. Organisms use feedback mechanisms to maintain their internal environments and respond to external environmental changes.
Explanation:In order for all organisms to maintain homeostasis organisms. An organism's external environment may conflict with the internal environment due to causes of environmental change. Control systems play the role to manage inside the organism's body. Feedback mechanisms are separated in two categories: Positive and negative feedback. Internal environment=dependent variable external environment=independent variable (due to its constant environment change) Vocabulary: Mechanisms- a system of parts working together in a machine; a piece of machinery. Organism-an individual animal, plant,or single-celled life form. Internal environment- outside the cells inside the body of an organism external environment- outside organism, physical, chemical, biological, conditions surrounding the organism negative feedback- mechanism that reduces the stimulus from external/internal environment positive feedback- increase stimulus from external/internal environment (smaller role in organisms) |
